MyChurch, A Place For Christians

MyChurch

Just as Myspace is “A Place For Friends,” the new startup MyChurch.org is a place for Christians. MyChurch allows for church members to organize and socialize online.

The site was created by the owners because they wanted to be more involved in their church after 3+ years of membership.

A great conversation between the owner and users exists at the TechCrunch Forums.

I really believe this is a great niche that will soon become very crowded. The more traction MyChurch can get on the front end, the better they will be in the long run. As of right now, they have 10k members and have members from 2600 churches.

One finer point is that this community is limited to Christians. I believe this is smart because it prevents religious arguments and keeps the site focused on socializing and organizing, not debating. If you want to debate about religion, visit my site and sign up for the beta.

Another Christian site on the horizon is Shoutlife . Mashable blogged about this site here.
