A Look At Lijit
June 1st, 2007 by AdministratorI have installed the Lijit search “wijit” in my sidebar. Give it a shot and search for something. I guarantee you will think it is cool.
It allows a searcher to search through the eyes of an “expert” or whomever you choose(normally the writer of the blog). It rounds up results based on a number of social sites, including StumbleUpon, Digg, and several others.
My company met with Todd Vernon, Lijit’s CEO, for a mentoring session last week which is where I heard what Lijit is all about. I think as more and more publishers adopt it, the snowball will grow.
One thing I will say definitively, it is a far better solution than Jason Calacanis’ new startup, Mahalo is bringing to the table. I would rather search through the eyes of as many experts I want over several forms of media than search through a page with redundant info. This is not to say Mahalo won’t be successful, just that Lijit is a better product in my mind.
